Diura on Batan Island's north coast catches raw north Pacific groundswell with almost nobody out — one of the few surf breaks in the Philippines where you might have a reef point to yourself on a 4-foot day. The landscape is Batanes at its most exposed: wind-bent grass, vertical cliffs, open ocean to Japan. Local's tip: no surf schools here, experienced riders only. Ask your Basco guide to arrange a habal-habal to Diura (30 min) and check Windguru before going.
