Batanes is one of the few provinces where traditional food sovereignty remains intact — Ivatan families grow their own ube, gabi and camote with no chemical inputs. BPVTAA-accredited homestays offer a farm-stay format: join morning planting or harvesting, eat what came out of the ground that day. Tip: this is unscripted — not staged agri-tourism. The province has a tourist cap; book through Batanes Tourism Office well in advance.
