Puraran Reef Community No-Take Zone

The reef at Puraran Bay has a community-declared no-take zone managed by local fisherfolk — one of the Pacific-facing communities in Bicol sustaining conservation without NGO funding. The coral garden is accessible by snorkel at 3–8m directly from the beach. Tip: ask at the surf camp for a reef warden introduction; they can point to the healthiest coral sections and accept small donations for patrol equipment.
