Boats from the Caticlan jetty also reach Carabao Island (San Jose, Romblon province) — a quiet island with clear water, a marine sanctuary and Hambil Beach, a tidal sandbar with snorkelling comparable to Boracay's outer reefs. The crossing takes 45–60 minutes. Tip: Carabao is a good option when Boracay feels overrun; a handful of basic guesthouses allow overnight stays.
