Sport Climbing the Cantabaco Limestone Walls
year-round (drier Dec–May)
An hour inland from Cebu City past Toledo, a sun-bleached limestone crag rises out of the jungle — Cantabaco, widely called the best rock climbing in the Philippines. Five sectors hold 100-plus bolted sport routes, from beginner 6a slabs to brutal 8a+ overhangs hung with tufas and pockets, and local guides rent gear and belay first-timers. Local's tip: the village charges only a token climber's fee and there's a red-roofed B&B where climbers post up for days — get there by bus to Toledo then a short habal-habal into the hills, which usually beats any packaged day-trip price.
Going? The planner prices every way into Cebu — planes, ferries and buses side by side.
