Dahican Beach Longboard & Turtle Watch

Dahican is a 7km Pacific-facing beach near Mati producing mellow longboard-friendly beach break from October to February — the annual Longboard Classic is held here. The same beach is a nesting site for critically endangered hawksbill turtles; community patrols escort visitors to watched nests in the early hours. Local's tip: a hired van from Davao to Mati takes about 4 hours; stay in Mati the night before to hit the surf at first light.
