Dilumacad Tunnel Dive
best Oct–Jun
Everyone island-hops Bacuit Bay from the surface; few drop under it. The signature dive is the Dilumacad Tunnel off Helicopter Island — a 35m swim-through that starts at a rocky mouth around 12–15m, cuts through the limestone in the dark, and opens on the far side into shafts of light, clouds of glassfish and sponges. It's a real overhead-environment thrill that rewards good buoyancy. Local's tip: pair it with North Rock, a current-swept pinnacle where jacks, barracuda and the odd reef shark or eagle ray patrol — and because the tunnel is a true cave, only dive it with an El Nido operator who knows the entry and the surge.
Going? The planner prices every way into El Nido — planes, ferries and buses side by side.
