Founded in 2022 by visual artist Derek Tumala and filmmaker Jan Pineda, KAPUT pioneered video-mapping AV installations at Manila underground raves. Each numbered edition is independently funded and concept-driven — KAPUT 9 (October 2025) fused techno with Filipino sarswela theater and featured artists from Brussels, New York, and Sydney. Explicitly queer, cross-disciplinary, non-commercial. Venue always announced late and cryptically. Local's tip: The Substack gets venue drops and curatorial context a week before anything appears on Instagram — it is the only reliable early-access channel.
