Founded during the 2020 lockdown by a horizontal collective with no CEO and equal-voice governance, MCR has broadcast over 1,000 shows and received a Boiler Room Broadcast Lab grant — resulting in a landmark showcase inside a decommissioned Marikina River boiler room. Functions as Manila underground electronic music's connective tissue, home to CONTINUUM, CHURCH, Transit Records, and dozens of collectives. Brought budots (Davao grassroots dance music) onto Boiler Room's global platform. Local's tip: MCR nights are listed on their website rather than Resident Advisor — often free and the most accessible entry point into the full scene.
