Eastern Visayas Regional Museum
year-round; closed Mon
The regional museum covers both the Yolanda (Typhoon Haiyan) disaster and recovery narrative alongside pre-colonial Leyte history, Marcos-era Leyte rooms and the Waray-Waray textile and ritual object collection. One of the Philippines' more honest regional museums about recent political history. Tip: the Marcos rooms are not hagiography — the curators let the timeline speak. Allow 2 hours minimum; the typhoon testimony section hits hard.
